Talented animators have brought to life particular sections of Alison Lester’s beloved book for Robert Connolly’s film. Their salt-flecked fantasies dive deep into the wonder of childhood minds and explore the coastal world as only young eyes can. Alongside stills from the animated portions of the film, the book features captivating live-action stills that keep the animations tethered to a realm which readers aged five to ten can easily recognise.

While this is not a traditional picture book, it does feature a wealth of different narrative images to draw in readers, as well as illustrated excerpts from Alison’s original book. It’s a must-have keepsake for all fans of Magic Beach.
