The Ice Whisperers

Sub-titled ‘The story of sisters born forty thousand years apart,’ this is a richly imagined book. When Bela is summoned to stay with her uncle in deepest Siberia, she uncovers a secret she was never meant to find: the entrance to an icy land, frozen in time and full of legends come to life. However, this magical world is in danger and Bela may be the only one who can save it. To succeed, she must join forces with the impossible – a long-lost sister she never knew she had.

Stachera wrote her debut novel to explore themes of family and belonging that, as an adopted daughter, are close to her heart.
